Leabrook Farms produce a range of Australia’s finest quality varietal honeys, using only the finest honey sourced from secluded pockets of native bushland around the country.
Similar to grape growing regions in winemaking; the colour, aroma, flavour and texture all vary depending on the type of native flower and region from which the nectar is collected by bees. The resulting honeys each have their own distinctive characteristics. So there’s a Leabrook Farms honey to suit everybody’s tastes.
Leabrook Farms has always placed a strong emphasis on the importance of only producing honey of superior quality. Our range of premium varietal honeys and pure blended honeys are all produced with this same dedication to quality.
Important Information
Honey
production is dependent on the ability of bees
to collect pollen from flowering plants. If there’s a sudden downturn in the
availability of flowering plants, the honey supply
is greatly diminished. 2009 has been a year
of severe and detrimental weather events in Australia. The
fires in Victoria and Floods in Queensland and
New South Wales have severely depleted the
supply of honeys, necessitating Leabrook Farms
to import honey for a short period, to keep up
with demand. These imports undergo strict,
comprehensive and independent testing prior to
being blended with our own Australian honeys to
ensure the product you purchase has passed all
quality assurance programmes and is of the
finest quality.
Any
honey sold by Leabrook Farms that contains imported
honeys will be labeled as such. Just look
for the words “MADE
FROM LOCAL AND IMPORTED INGREDIENTS” on
the 325g, 400g and 500g Pure Honey packs. All
other varieties, including Honey Spread, are still
being produced using solely Australian honeys.
Leabrook
Farms will continue to monitor supply levels and
will return to full Australian content as soon
as they increase.
